Airport Operations Tour

Last night we had a plane with 12 visitors come into the airport. I went out to the terminal and got a tour of the radio room and the equipment that controls the lighting. I then got in their fire engine and rode up and down the runway checking on the bird densities and moving a few birds out of the way. Just before the plane landed we parked where it would be easy to get to the plane if there was any difficulty and watched it land. The plane turned around and taxied back down the runway and we then led the plane down the taxi way to where it parks. I watched the loading and unloading and the fueling operation from right down next to the plane. A ride in a fire engine up and down the runway and leading the plane into the terminal. A ten year old kids dream. It was a neat evening!
