The Albatross chicks are so cute and engaging at this point it is hard not to get attached to them. It is best not to since the survival rate is not very high. This being said there is one that shuffles over to where we park our bikes so I notice him every day. Today when I got home from work I stopped to take pictures of the chicks in the yard and he came over and started nibbling on my foot. They are very inquisitive and investigate everything with their beaks so this was not surprising. This was fine until he found a thin piece of skin near my big toenail and really chomped down. OUCH!
